What the Big Fish' have to say...

Snehadhara Foundation is doing exemplary work with children and adults with special needs and their families. It is the first school of its kind using Arts Based Therapy. The foundation has not only provided a creative space for these special people to develop their individual potential, but is also doing commendable work towards increasing awareness about the contribution that they can make towards enriching our lives. Though the main focus is the student, the school works extensively to train their families and the community as well. This makes learning sustainable and meaningful. I very strongly recommend Snehadhara Foundation to any organisation wishing to get involved in the lives of some very beautiful special people. - Andal Murthy

Snehadhara occupies a unique space in the non-profit educational sector - it is an organization which has effectively showcased the potential of arts based therapy for special children in the city of Bangalore. I believe that they do need further support to conduct their practice more intensively, with more resources for research and documentation, so that their fledgling efforts can not only be up scaled but also provide a pathway for others working in the field of disabilities and education. - Ramnath Bhat (MARAA)

We are fortunate to have a team which primarily focussing Arts Based Therapy for differently abled people. Additionally, this team has practitioners who are certified by WCCL, Pune. It is imperative that a highly committed organisation like this has to leverage upon the rest of the eco system and should also be able to use schemes and provisions provided by Government. This way a committed and dedicated Organisation/Team achieves its goals and shall have a positive impact on the society in bringing the differently abled children/adults to main stream. I feel an organisation like yours should proactively enable more such NGOs to make this society more adaptive for differently abled people. -

There is a tremendous shortage of professional support for the development of children with special needs in India. Snehadhara has found a niche for itself - through art, music and other performance therapy - to be able to give these children and their families the environment and support they need. As the organisation's confidence and track record in this has grown, Snehadhara has also drafted for itself a growth trajectory for large-scale impact, understanding that the next steps are to increase the number of trained personnel who can perform similar professional roles, and to work with the public education system to provide a more inclusive atmosphere for children with special learning needs. Each of these steps is long overdue, and if carried out well will greatly help shape the environment for 'special education' in the coming years. - Ashwin Mahesh (Mapunity)

You should consider Snehadhara because their core strength is creating excellent educational, remedial & therapeutic programs for their clients. They are the only organization which does 'overnighters' for their children. Some of these kids are highly dependent on their parents. Getting them to stay the night in the centre, without parents, and being able to do it successfully, is proof enough of the dedicated team. They are pioneering effective therapeutic strategies where conventional approaches have performed poorly. Since their programs are showing positive results with the group of children, they have the potential to eventually, replicate this program and lead other organizations towards similar approaches. - Zubin Balsara (WCCLF)
